Emancipation.

Emancipation.

Standing on the tips of your toes without ballet shoes is an almost impossible task and anybody trying to do so will be unsteady and fall. The person who goes on a long walk and starts at a very fast pace will find it very difficult to maintain this speed for any length on time.

Those who boast about what they have done or achieved need no further honour or praise; they get of what they seek from the feeling of self-righteousness that comes from such boasting.

Now just for a moment think what it would feel like to be totally emancipated from all such boasting, to no longer need the approval of others for the things you accomplish. To be free from the worry of failure.

The Tao te Ching says that all of these are just the extra baggage that we do not need to carry with us, and they never bring us any real deep sense of joy.

The creative person will be free from all such clutter if they give themselves freely to the rhythm of what they are engaged in, being at one with the task at hand. For this precious time of creativity, there is nobody we need to please no plans or arrangements to interrupt. There is nothing to prove.

Be as free as the butterfly, light of touch and emancipated from all care, living in the now and going with the Tao.
